In the vast majority of cases, an employer will pay for you to take legal advice on the terms of the settlement agreement. We do not take any payment from you to advise you on the agreement. We invoice your employer and your employer will pay us directly.
The contribution that the employer is willing to make towards an employee’s legal costs will be set out in the settlement agreement and will usually be a capped amount. In the vast majority of cases this will be sufficient to cover your costs in advising you, running through the agreement and executing the agreement. £250 plus VAT is usually an adequate sum to take detail regarding your employment history, to run through the settlement agreement and to advise you.
